Kushim is regarded as possibly the first example of a named person in writing.

The name "Kushim" is recorded on the Kushim Tablet, an ancient Sumerian clay tablet recording transactions that is now named for him or her.

Kushim is mentioned in eighteen tablets, and is believed to have been either an individual or (less probably) an organization responsible for recording transactions.
